PRESS RELEASE - ANNOUNCEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Independent American Movement for Constitutional Restoration established.
Boise, ID
September 19, 2009
In the spirit of the founders of this nation and the limited, Constitutional Republic that they established based on fundamental moral and republican principle, and in the spirit of the awakening American public all over this nation, an independent, non-partisan, constitutionally-oriented effort has been established called the, "Independent American Movement for Constitutional Restoration (
IAM-
CR)."
This effort is directed at restoring the US Constitution to its proper role and place in our society and Republic through the Constitutional principles upon which it was founded.
It is not a political party and it is not a PAC (Political Action Committee).
Rather, it is an independent effort to get conservative, constitutionally-minded, and faithful Americans all across this nation personally involved with the political process at the local, state, and national level and focusing squarely on the Constitution and constitutional principles as they choose candidates to support. Through such personal responsibility and involvement, replicated millions of times across the nation, the people can then take back the political process from the big party political powers, special interests, lobbyist groups, and growing socialistic and marxistic influences that are corrupting it and destroying the nation.
Commenting on the effort, Pastor Stephen Broden of the Fair Park Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas, and a member of the Advisory Board for the movement, said this:
"I think the Independent American Movement for Constitutional Restoration effort has great potential for focusing the energy that's already out there to restore the Constitution. Let's go forward with this outstanding effort while protecting it from the opportunists who would use it for any malicious reason."
Explaining more detail associated with the movement, Jeff Head, the National Coordinator, said this from Boise, Idaho:
"This effort is straight forward. We intend to influence current representatives and officials by petitioning them for redress. That redress being that they strictly fulfill their oaths to the Constitution of these United States according to the fundamental principles that the Constitution was founded on, and the plain language of the Constitution itself. We intend to deliver hundreds of thousands, if not millions of signatures on this petition to congress in the summer of 2010 before the mid-term elections. That petition can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=110770273356
"We also intend to ensure that future candidates enter the process knowing that the people expect them to do the same. We are listing twelve fundamental principle statements and asking members of this group to swear or affirm to support those principles, and to only vote for those candidates who also swear or affirm to support them and establish, maintain, & support them in law if elected. We are asking candidates to review these principle statements and swear or affirm to support them in order to earn our vote. That effort, which is a sister effort to the petition drive, can be found at: http://restoretheconstitution.ning.com/
"We intend to establish a citizen voting block large enough, all over this nation, to influence elections at the local, state and national levels to the point where candidates in those elections come to us, from whatever party, to take up this cause and support it. If we as citizens focus on fundamental principle and integrity, and demand it of our candidates, then good candidates, statesmen and women, will rise to the top like cream rises to the top of fresh milk. Through this method, over time, we will see our Republic return to its Constitutional and principled foundation, throw off the partisan, self-interested, socialistic, and destructive politics of the day...and thereby enhance the life, liberty, and happiness of all citizens."
The twelve statements address the following topics/issues:
- Life
- Liberty
- Family
- Self Defense
- Property
- Immigration
- National Defense
- Energy
- Free Trade
- Education
- Judiciary
- Welfare
All twelve individual principle statements can be read in their entirety online:

The Independent American Movement for Constitutional Restoration has the acronym "
IAM-
CR" which means, "I AM Constitutional Restoration", and conveys the principle that each individual citizen is responsible for Constitutional Restoration within their own sphere of influence.
We urge citizens across this nation to review and sign the Petition Drive for Constitutional Restoration directed at current representatives and officials:
Petition for Constitutional Restoration in the USA (on Facebook)
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=110770273356
We urge citizens and candidates to become a part of the movement helping Constitutional Restoration sweep this nation at:

Finally, the Independent American Movement for Constitutional Restoration will operate on a completely volunteer basis with no donations to the "Organization", no salaries, no stipends, no dues. Individual members will give of their own time and money to efforts they personally oversee and are involved in. Someone hoping to join an organization where they can find a salary or monetary career will not find it with this effort.
As a result the effort will not be beholden to anyone...not to political parties or candidates, not to advertisers, not to special interests, not to lobbyists, not to anyone...except the individual members who will make whatever contributions necessary at the local, state, and national level that they can afford in time and treasure for those efforts they are personally involved with.
Simply stated, our own liberty and the process by which we vouchsafe it through the Constitution must be worth the time and effort of us as individual citizens. We believe it is, and we believe that when given the opportunity, American citizens all over this nation, by the millions will prove this theory. It is past time that we the people spent our own time and money on those efforts we passionately and sincerely believe in, and not give it to someone else to do it for us.
God grant this effort and others like it to restore our Constitution and the principles it was founded upon to the prominence and stature that was their original intent, and to stand, next to each individual's own faith and love for their families, as the next most prominent issue in their hearts and minds.
Sincerely,
The Independent American Movement for Constitutional Restoration
